Let's Have your comments, why is this not the class of choice between 125's, 250's and 400 lb 600's!? In 2009 there are EIGHT manufactured brands of 450cc, 90% fuel injected. These macines ARE purpose built, tough bred racing machines, not street bikes you have to deconstruct. Also in their 6th year of development. whether you are 15 or 50, this is the most fun to be had on the asphalt, 240lbs, 55 bhp and more aftermarket stuff available than the rest!

Keep up the good work... its time has come... Boy Racer
This is more of a question but I will keep checkin in on your blog to get the answer. What year(s) do these bikes have to be to do this process? About how much will the average Joe have to spend to convert?
What is the newest year a bike would have to be to do this conversion? What will it cost the average Joe to be converted?
this needs to be pushed on to the people that run moto gp and these are the bikes that should replace the two stroke 250's you are on the right track , it is to bad the manufactures just dont build these bikes ,keep as much as you can stock and keep the cost down and this will grow it looks like so much fun good job !!!!
AMA do somthing right and get this class going ,keep it simple and dont over rule it and there will be great racing with every manufacture out on the track 'no other sanctioning body would have all the bikes on the grid that this class could have or have that many people line up for a class full grids of 42to 50 riders if you dont see any thing else then at least see the money it would generate through the back gate now,I think i'am speaking your language no factories no money no sponsors no money ,have a class with alot of riders you just generated money and will have put on a great show and do it this year if you need someone to run it let me know I have many years running a race track and putting on events thanks.
Gavin dont stop keep moving on this you are the future of up and coming talent in this road racing world
We keep the the pot boiling... Never has there ever been a need and an opportunity to bring such a class to fruition than now... Class racing is very obvious and simnple. Fans and Racers understand 125, 450, 600 and 1000cc, stepping stones. What a 450 can do now, was what a 600 could do 15 years ago. This is the 'everyman racer' for all the right reasons, not to mention tires tht last several weekends, one cyclinder and four gallons of gas at a race, and millions of parts, aftermarket speed equipment and EIGHT 2009 makes to choose from. Almost too simple and obvious, please keep the flame burnin!! I will..
Good work, Gav. Your time has come...again!
can i use ANY bodywork - show a little individualism? - can i use the aprilia rs250 rolling chassis in my shop with a 'crosser 450 4 stroke motor or do i have to use the original 'crosser chassis?.
all sounds like a good idea - but do i have to use the stock chassis etc - i have a aprilia rs250 rolling chassis sitting doing nothing in my shop - can i slip a crf450 motor into that and be eligable to race with these guys ?.
Regarding the year, for club racing anything goes, but for a future Pro series, the mor current year models will be prevelant. I will say, that in 2010, all model will have fuel injection, which in our experience, is the way to go. No carburation to take care of and also the OEMs supplu as an option, an ECU kit that can alter the power curves etc.
You can do anything you like, there is always someone that wants to produce something out of left field. The idea for this series is to keep it simnple, affordable and easy to maintain. This class goes back to the days of pickup truck and a bike, no mechanic or helper needed. Don't overthink, or over engineer it!
